Those of us who always complain about useless User Interfaces, this is WW1 submarine... Intuitive!!

#Police are an offensive and intrusive segment of society made up of regular humans who carry guns and are allowed to kidnap people and shoot them.

Other humans that carry guns are strictly prohibited from doing such things because the thugs that call themselves leaders didn't give those other humans a free pass on the abuse of human rights.

Ain't that a thing?

Remember, if you've used a technology since 2009, you can now claim your experience "spans three decades" (00's, 10's, 20's) even if you're just in your 20's now.

Me, 1991:

Woaaa! Robots are cool! 🤖 👍

Me, 2021:

Figuring out that I am asked by a robot (a web server) to prove that I am NOT a robot, and that I can't as it would imply to execute javascript code from a company (Google) that I block because -among others- it helps guide US killer-robots to their targets (project Maven), it owns dozens of drone companies and the patent portfolio of Boston Dynamics... 💣 💥 🤯

lol, seems that i've added my ssh public key to an account on gitlab and now i can't add that to another account.
security anti-features galore.

Generally speaking, #TorBrowser is the only standalone #browser designed for proper use.

There are other genuinely FOSS browsers you can pair with #I2P.

If your bank rejects TorBrowser, or goes through #Cloudflare, use other #banking services or switch #banks entirely.

In #Australia over 30% of our banks go through Cloudflare – and most people who work there have no clue what Cloudflare even is, and why Australian banking passes through an American mega-corporation.

I am sick and tired of constantly reviewing settings in web browsers to see if they have snuck in some new tracking mechanism that I get to disable because "your privacy is important to us".

I am sick and tired of all the black UX that goes into this, like opt out instead of opt in, or at least providing top level choices like, say, Fuck NO I'd NEVER EVER Like You To Track ANYTHING Now And In Every Perceivable Future. Like sync'ing every setting in your profile except tracking related settings, because hey that way you might by mistake opt out of tracking on another installation where you really wanted to be tracked. The list goes on and on.

Browsers are critical infrastructure and clearly an open source stamp on them fails in itself to provide any meaningful shield towards capitalist subversion.

I'd like a browser with a license that explicitly rules out *any* kind of commercial entity or interest contributing or directing development.

Web dev be like:

"I want to detect if a CSS variable has been changed"
"Sure, here's a very hacky solution with very specific requirements that are a pain to implement because there's no official way to do this"
"I want to detect if a user is sitting in a >3m² room, alone, and hasn't blinked in the last 2 seconds"
"You can use this 1-liner that utilizes the RoomSizeUserPresenceAndEyeBlink API Google pushed into standards to totally not improve their tracking of users"

Warning; PayPal buyer's protection seems to not exist for AliExpress orders. It seems that they just forward to AliExpress.
So, don't use PayPal to pay AliExpress.
Don't use AliExpress if you worry about getting cheated!

My uncle just finished 1.6 kg, 700 pages long dictionary of Northern Sami, a language spoken by around 20,000 speakers.

Sami are an indigenous people who have inhabited large parts of Northern Europe spanning from Russia to Norway for millenniums.

He has dedicated his life to advocate for their rights and preserve their languages and culture. This book is a major contribution in an effort to ensure that this ancient language will be passed on to future generations.

I'm fully vaxxed (until they change the definition of that -- it's coming)

It was a decision I made understanding that the vaccines are essentially experimental and could have acute and chronic side effects. I made the decision based on balancing the risks against the responsibility I have to maintain. It was my decision to make.

The fact that I made the decision a certain way doesn't mean I want to force my decision onto anyone else. I don't think I'm special, that my judgement is supreme. I just did what I thought was best and it was a gamble.

Regardless of the above, vaccine passports are simply evil. Asking people for their papers to participate in society is an icon for the worst regimes in history, an icon of repression, an icon of evil.

These people think they're the good guys. So did the Nazis. They're wrong, just like the Nazis. For people who seem to care so much about what history thinks of them, they are awfully ignorant of how history has judged people like them previously.

Vaccine mandates are not about if the vaccine works or not, if it is dangerous or safe or what company or companies made them.

Vaccine mandates are about who gets to make your healthcare decisions.

You can be the most hardcore pro-vaxxer and still not believe that the government or your employer get to choose what you do or don’t put in your body.

Vaccine mandates are about surrendering your basic rights to your body and health choices to a third party.
