Hey all, I'm looking for a new job!
Something in the Embedded space where both Firmware and Hardware work is happening but I am open, more Software leaning overall. I enjoy product development a lot and is what I have done most of my career.
I'm a system engineering generalist with 10y+ experience and work as a Tech Lead atm.
Remote only, around US EST preferable but also open to EU where I'm based.
My LinkedIn is in my linktr.ee/timonsku
DMs should also work.

Question for the #postgresql experts. I need to store a hash in a column where I need to run queries on (equal, ranges). Should I go with hstore as that’s suited for hashes, or should I just go the JSONB route since it supports that plus more (I assume), making me more flexible in the future?

Finally (years in the making) I have put my products online. Not that I expect to sell any there, but it feels like a major step. But to where?

Gun Control Activists are like;

"I am advocating for men with guns to storm your house, threaten to kill you if you don't disarm. And they must kill you if you defend yourself against them."

Does that sound like "anti-violence" to you?

@Polychrome As I have always preached (to anyone switched on to listen);

Rather ask a stupid question today, than remain stupid for the rest of your life.

Larken Rose is again expressing an important concept of voluntarism -- Being nice to Evil (IRS, police, bureaucrats, ++) gives positive feedback and a signal that it is Ok to continue.

If everyone expressed their disdain for all government employees, telling that they should get a real job instead of being a piece of shit, then not many people would want those jobs.

@lupyuen I wonder if they'll be a new wave of websites generated exclusively by AI.

For example, scrape what's trending on Twitter, shove the Tweets through an AI grinder, and hey presto, instant flamebait topical news item.

I would like to give a shout out to the Pony Lang community;
ponylang.io/blog/2023/02/last-

Pony is a very interesting language, especially for use-case where Erlang shines. But unlike Erlang, Pony has a focus to guarantee that there are no race conditions. Meaning the dreaded "shared and mutable state" is not a thing. It accomplishes this through a remarkable type system, in my opinion superior to Rust's "borrowing".

I am (slowly) implementing one block programming platform using Pony, and love it.

One of the most disappointing developments in tech for me over the past couple decades is how we collectively won our open source freedoms with amazing tools such as Python, PostgreSQL, Linux and so on and then proceeded to gleefully surrender those hard-won freedoms to the "cloud" walled gardens of Amazon, Microsoft and Google.

Do not buy the TP-Link Deco M4.

This mesh device mandates configuring exclusively through a smartphone app.

Even if you're okay with that in a few years they'll stop updating the app, it won't work on newer Android/iOS for whatever reason and you'll be stuck with a fancy brick.

TP-Link, what the heck? :blobdisapproval:

@oblate
Great...

You seem to have some interest in Audio on microcontrollers. I am also involved in AwesomeAudioApparatus, and specifically the demiurge "platform".

It has a corner on STM32world.com but also github.com/awesomeaudioapparat

To all you STM32 fans out there; Join the STM32World community.

stm32world.com - great resource for how to do things in practice.
